Robbie's Big 30

My man turned 30 on the 14th. THIRTY! Robbie is gold. He's loyal, supportive, loving, patient, forgiving. He makes people feel comfortable when they're with him. He gives great advice and knows how to laugh and make others laugh. I love him so much.

His 2-layer funfetti cake, per request. #kidatheart

What a goof. Happy birthday, babe!

"After Nap Cousins Cabin Mama Okay?"

A couple weeks ago, we spent some good time with our Simons cousins! We had a play date at the farm park, and then spent the night at the cabin for some spring cleaning. These girls love their cousins and, as hard as it is getting us all to the cabin and then getting little sleep every time, it seems to be worth it. So happy they'll have these memories forever.

When Olivia woke up from her nap the day we headed up to the cabin, the first words out of her mouth were "after nap cousins cabin mama okay?" With her sweet voice and her cocked head, I had no choice but to hurry her into the car and off we were!

Playing With Dad

The twins and Robbie have been playing every single night together lately. I tell you, Robbie is THE funnest dad in the world. Their favorite thing lately is to play on the slide (cardboard box we've had for months--parenting for the win) and they just giggle and giggle. He comes up with the most creative things! They have more fun in that 30 minutes with dad than they have with me all day. I'm so thankful for a playful daddy for our little ones.

Robbie's Weight Loss

In January, Robbie started a 3 month weight loss competition with a bunch of friends on Twitter. He had a weigh-in every Monday. He put $25 in at the beginning and got it back if he lost 8% of his body weight. Those in the group who didn't lose the 8% gave their money to whomever lost the most weight. Not only did he lose just over 50 pounds, but he ended up winning the competition and earning a few hundred bucks! He sacrificed so much and worked hard day after day. I learned that eating snacks late at night is way more fun when you have someone to do it with you :)

Proud, proud, proud of this handsome boy!

Madelyn at 6 Months

We are completely obsessed with this one. She is such a sweetie! The thing I hear most out of Robbie's mouth about Madelyn is, "She's such a happy baby!" And it's true. Unless she's super hungry or tired, she's one happy girl.

Madelyn started sitting up on her own last week and it makes her look like such a big girl. She loves grabbing anything and everything and going to town on it. She rolls around and is getting stronger on her tummy. Maddie is a loud one! I can't wait to see how her loud personality translates in a couple years. She yells and constantly makes noises, all while clenching her whole body. She's a spitter and makes "da da" sounds. She is a total social bug and hates being left in a room alone. She gives me the biggest smiles throughout the day and is a ticklish little thing. She still laughs the most at K&O.

She weighs 15 lbs 5 oz and is 27 inches long. She's still a great nurser and feeding her is one of my favorite things right now. I love that time together. She hasn't taken to solid foods much, which kills me because I can tell she's super interested. She basically lunges at everything we are eating. She won't do purees or spoons, so we're attempting finger foods for now. She cringes and gags and everything she tries, but one of these days she's bound to catch on....right?? I'm really not too worried. She takes 3 naps and nurses 6-7 times per day. She's up around 6:30 am and goes down at 7 pm.

We love our sweet Maddie Jo SO much.
