Beth's middle name, Eve, comes from my Grandma Bean. She is a saint of a woman and I love her dearly. I took Beth to meet Grandma last week and the best way I can describe it was that it felt like heaven. Such a new little soul with a sweet, old soul. It was very tender watching them meet...even thinking about it now makes me teary. I'm so thankful for eternal families.

First Weeks with Bethers
In no particular order, these photo are pretty telling of the first weeks of Beth's life: happy, tired mama, kids who beg me to hold her all day, the best daddy who holds us all together, and grandparents who came and loved on all of us while I was healing and adjusting. What a beautiful life.
In true newborn fashion, I had a lactation consultant come over and help work through some major clamping down issues Beth was having. These women that come are truly angels. She referred us to a cranial psychotherapist that did some work on Beth a couple of times to help her jaw relax. She said she sees the tight jaw a lot with babies that come out so quickly. We're hoping it helps her (and me, ouch!).

Bringing Beth Home
I don't love staying in the hospital very long, so I was so glad everything checked out great and we were able to come home the day after Beth was born. Watching the kids meet her was really special. You can just see the pure joy in their faces. Heaven is in our home with this precious new baby!

Meet Elizabeth Eve Simons
Elizabeth Eve Simons
Born Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 2:49 pm
7 lbs 6 oz, 19 inches
Born one day after her due date, Beth made her debut on a Tuesday afternoon! It was so nice not giving birth late at night like all of our others. She was born about 45 minutes after we got to the hospital and we are more in love than we ever thought possible. Oh how we love out Beth! My mom came and stayed with the kids for a couple of days and they were able to come and take a peek at Beth through the hospital window. We have just been praying constantly full of so much gratitude that she's here safe and healthy. What a gift.
