6:30 a.m. - Wake up to pump before girls get up; we love to go check on the girls together. They give their biggest smiles first thing in the morning. Sometimes Robbie goes into work at 5:30, sometimes 6:30, sometimes 7:30. Just depends on how tired he is that morning.
7:00 a.m. - Change girls' diapers, feed them, play (sing songs, tummy time, etc.)
8:00-10:00 a.m. - Girls nap; I usually nap with them as well
9:30 a.m. - Wake up to eat breakfast before girls wake up (Oatmeal, toast, and fruit has been my breakfast every single morning for the past 4 months); prepare their bottles for the next feeding
10:00 a.m. - Wake girls up to eat, change diapers, feed them, and play
11:00 am. - 1:00 p.m. Girls nap; If I've had a really rough night, I'll nap with them here as well. Mostly, this is when I do laundry, dishes from the previous night, or eat, shower, etc. Prepare bottles.
1:00 p.m. - Wake girls up to eat, change diapers, feed them, play, go for a walk
2:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Girls nap; usually one of them (cough...cough...Olivia) will wake up early from this nap and we will just hang out until it's time to eat again. Prepare bottles.
4:00 p.m. - Wake girls to each (if they aren't already up), change diapers, feed, play
5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Girls nap. This nap is super iffy and often one or both girls will sleep for maybe 30 minutes and then we'll all hang out together. Sometimes they sleep the whole time and I get to make dinner.
7:00 p.m. - Robbie comes home and helps me feed the girls. Sometimes, if dinner is ready, we take turns eating while the other feeds, then switch while the other burps. Other times, we both eat together after they're both fed.
7:30 - 10:00 p.m. - We always keep the girls up before their last feeding of the day, but they'll take a small cat nap in our arms sometime during this time. This is when Robbie and I like to watch a show together, or he'll do extra work he brought home from work. He might budget while I rock with the girls in the rocking chair. We might bathe the girls. It just depends!
10:00 p.m. - Change diapers, feed the girls, and put them down for the night. We rock or bounce them a little before bed and then sing them a song before they go down. They usually sleep anywhere between 7-9 hours.
Like I said, this schedule varies. Sometimes we end up feeding them at 8:30 and they go down an hour later for the night. Sometimes it's more like 9:00 or 9:30. It really just depends on when they wake up each morning. We go every 3 hours from there. Eventually we will get to where they go down closer to 7 or 7:30. As much as we love our girls, it will be nice to put them down and have the night to ourselves!
Also, I try to pump about an hour after each feeding so I have milk ready for when they wake up next. I used to pump right when they woke up, but then I'd have crying babies for 20 minutes and that was never fun for anyone.
There you have it! Gosh, we love them.
What sweet lucky babies they are to have you two as their parents. We love watching you and Robbie with them!
ReplyDeleteWhat blessings these babies are!! This schedule is proof that you and Robbie are a great team and I'm so glad that the girls reward you often with their adorable smiles. You are doing a great work and doing it so very well.
